So these birth control pills the Doc has me on cost $31.99 per month. My insurance doesn’t cover them. Reading through the information on my insurance – - I find that they cover 100% of maternity costs…pregnancy check-ups, hospitilization, well-baby check ups and all that. They cover tubal ligation (sterilization), they cover vasectomies – - but they do not cover the cost of birth control per month.

$383.88 per year. Compared to how many $$ in a year for pregnancy, delivery, hospitilization, doctors visits, and the insurance costs for the kid after it’s born?

Doesn’t seem to make much sense to me. In the meantime – I’m trying to find a place where I can get the prescription cheaper. Drugstore.com has it for about 50 cents cheaper – - hardly worth it.

Maybe I’ll look into obtaining it from Canada. :P

  2. I just say no to abstinance!

  3. Try Family Planning.

  4. Family planning? I thought that was what I was doing by preventing the pregnancy to begin with! lol

Unless you mean an organization like Planned Parenthood? Tried them — my income is too high to qualify for their reduced rate.

bah – no answer here, I’ll just bear the cost of it, because I’m unwilling to bear the consequences if I don’t! :)
