We’re home! Unbelievably – we made it. 15 hours is a long, long time to spend driving on the road! We took a different route home and actually found TWO Starbucks on our trip home. On was off the I-65 in Bowling Green, Kentucky – and the other was off the I-65 in Lafayette, Indiana. I have to give some HUGE thanks to Reilly for that last Starbucks. Chris and I were dying for coffee about that time – - so I picked up my cell and called her.
“Hi – it’s me . . are you near a computer?”
“Yea,” Reilly says, “Why? You need Starbucks?”
“Of Course!”
So I gave her my general location and she looked it up and gave me directions to a Starbucks that was no less than three miles from where we were in Lafayette! Thanks, girl!
One thing I had forgotten about Kentucky and Tenessee is how beautiful that part of the country is down there. At least the parts we drove through – just gorgeous. The weather cooperated and everything – so it was a pretty smooth ride, even if it was extremely long!
We got home about midnight last night. I had planned on waking up very early this morning to tackle the piles and piles of work that has been loading up while I’ve been away. I woke up with a minor migraine, so I took two Tylenol, sat down at my desk and started in. About 30 minutes later, I start feeling reaaalllyyy woooooozzzzey.
I can only tell you guys this, cuz we’re friends. As a nurse, this is highly embarassing. However – I happened to look down at the white bottle of Tylenol and realized that I took two tablets out of the white bottle of sleeping pills that I had purchased last week during my bout of insomnia! Two tablets! That’s 100mg of Benadryl!
Needless to say, I did not get much work done during the day at all. At about 11 am I laid down and slept until 4pm – - stayed up for 30 minutes and slept again until about 6:15pm.
Sleeping off the Tylenol. Riight.
How stupid of me. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
I put the sleeping pills into the bathroom cabinet so I wouldn’t make that same stupid mistake again. But seriously, the bottles look identical. No really!!
Duh.
Go ahead, you can say it – - “Lisa, you are sooooooooooooooo stupid!”
I can take it!

Actually the Starbucks thing has me laughing more than the sleeping pill.
Not stupid, just busy.
Reilly is one heck of a pal.
So, uhh, you’ll be up all night working then, huh?
Never one to miss out on an oppotunity….. Stooooooooooooooooooooooopid! lol, oh well you probably needed the sleep anyhow. Glad your back safe, enjoy your new furniture. Just one question, did you take the kids with you?
I know, I know – - I’ll let you by with it this time, Fred . . only because I totally deserve it.
And no – I didn’t take the kids with us this time. They spent some much needed quality time with their father and their grandparents.
Ok, I just wondered how that went, 15 hours on the road with teens…. what a nightmare. Fortunately mine is old enough to drive herself so she followed us up to Atlanta, and a dvd player placated the little ones.
New nursing cure for headaches – sleep it off with Benedryl. Okay.
Glad you made it back safe and didn’t hear Dueling Banjos.
glad to have helped
As for the sleeping pills – - I think Freud would have something to say about that.
Glad you made it home safe!
Glad yall made it back safe & sound! Can’t wait for pictures of your new bedroom suite.
Welcome back Lisa
I made the same mistake once. I had some an acidy stomach and instead of taking the rolaids, I accidentally mainlined some heroin. How do I spell relief? S – M – A – C – K.
