Chicago

The kids left earlier tonight to stay at my Mom’s. They are leaving bright and early in the morning to catch a train to Chicago where they’ll spend the day at the Navy Pier, Museum of Science and Industry and for a trip up into the Sears Tower. Should be a fun day for them all.

“Mom,” says my teenage son, “Do you think I’ll get in trouble if I say the word ‘bomb’ on the way up into the Sears Tower?”

“Ben,” says I, “Go ahead and try it and I’ll leave you overnight in a Chicago jail cell just to teach you a lesson.”

“Ok, ” he says, “Maybe it’s not such a good idea, huh?”

  1. He loves to push the envelope and I think a few of Mom’s buttons too ;)

  2. Oh. Museum. Of science and industry. Ugh.

Of course, I’m not much of a museum person. And certainly not of science. Rates right up there with exercise for me.

The Sears Tower sounds fun to me, though.
