Great review! I have some experience in maintaining blogs with the regular wordpress and was wondering if WordPress MU is very different?

I want to start a social network and was wondering if I should use Ning, BP using MU or wait for BP to be released on wordpress.org. Any thoughts?

BuddyPress sounds great!

I recently launched an online community using http://www.kickapps.com/ but I hate the ads.. I costs $100/month to remove the ads or take control of your own ad campaign.

I only started using WordPress in January and I love it!

Brilliant!
The integration of BuddyPress into “wehearthis” is the most elegant I’ve seen so far. [flokka.com being second, but it's only a matter of taste. I prefer wehearthis's graphic design. In terms of added functionnalities they are both outstanding.]

Isn’t it funny to see that the two very first websites that have done a true integration of BuddyPress are “chicks communities”?

BuddyPress is perfect for creating small to medium sized specialty “social networks” (whatever you call them).
